John Forberger

John helps retail partners like SaaS companies and ecommerce agencies get seen by brands through public relations tactics. Having led PR programs for Zehner, Skava, Digital Operative, Splitit, WebLinc, Stitch Labs and other merchant vendors, John knows how to dig for and deliver compelling stories to the press that create leads.

Before launching Forberger Communications, John served as Communications and Public Relations Manager at SaaS ecommerce company WebLinc, parent company of Workarea and Orderbot. There, he collaborated with executives, investors, customers (retailers), partners, plus the account management, product and sales teams. His media relations tactics produced coverage in business publications like The Washington Post, Fast Company and TechCrunch, as well as broadcast appearances (CBC), podcasts, speaking engagements (IRCE), and bylines in pivotal retail trade publications (Retail TouchPoints, Internet Retailer). In addition to media outreach, John handled analyst relations efforts, produced marketing and sales collateral including website copy, webinars, blog posts, white papers, case studies, on top of proposals, speeches, and more.

Pre-WebLinc days, John led communications and new business development for high-profile public relations firms in New York City and an award-winning agency in New Jersey. While there, he reorganized new business procedures including digital marketing initiatives that broadened agency exposure to a fresh network of B2C and B2B companies. Signed clients included consumer brands, non-profits, experiential marketing agencies, advertising agencies, and branding agencies.

John has been featured in prominent publications including Adweek and Forbes, PR podcasts, and trade magazines.

“I trusted John to represent our SaaS businesses for 4+ years, and I’d do it again. I didn’t think someone with ecommerce knowledge and an understanding of how to work with modern media to repeatedly deliver results existed. John’s role went beyond communications and public relations – he wrote website copy, ebooks, blog posts, brand guidelines, plus he interviewed clients to develop sales materials and more. Most importantly, he got our company seen by our target audiences without handholding.”

Darren Hill, CEO & Co-founder, WebLinc
“A well respected professional marketer in ecommerce advised against bringing PR in-house. I’m glad to say he was wrong. John has added more value with regard to PR and media placement than any agency we’ve ever worked with.”
Avery Amaya, Chief Revenue Officer, WebLinc
“John is always the guy with a smart plan, and his extensive network – a network with which he maintains frequent, meaningful contact – never fails to amaze.

If you need someone to contribute to the improvement of your business, someone to either raise the profile of the company or to expand new business development efforts, John is an outstanding candidate with a track record of success worthy of your consideration.”

Rod Hughes, Vice President, Kimball Communications

“John is an exceptional PR powerhouse. I think what separates John the most is his specialist approach. While other PR firms are mostly industry agnostic, John has specific expertise and connections in the ecommerce space. This not only helped securing valuable media placement in relevant publications, or speaking opportunities in conference, but also enabled him to better understand the voice of the customer and tell our story in a very effective way.”

Yuval Yatskan, B2B SaaS marketer
“John adds value in many ways. Most importantly, he’s our voice. In the past, we’ve been terrible about putting ourselves out there for the world to hear about, John helped facilitate that and make sure we were presented best.”
James Van Arsdale III, VP of Design & Delivery, WebLinc

“I hired John to lead my PR firm’s new business activities. He brought a savvy intuition to our new business development efforts, effortlessly connecting us with potential customers who we considered ‘strategic’ wins. John also works hard, guided by an intelligence that raised the client-seeking process to a higher level. I recommend you hire John if you need business development items handled efficiently, quickly and with honesty.”
